ASTROLOGY.COM'S MONTHLY HIGHLIGHTS: GEMINI
June 1: Solar Eclipse in Gemini
How much information is too much information? With a partial solar eclipse in Gemini occurring close to that sign's south node, you may feel like your mind is speeding along like a hamster on an exercise wheel! As always, eclipse periods indicate dramatic world events, so watch for plenty of breaking news that might make you shake your head and wonder if we should all be reminded of our Miranda Rights ('You have the right to remain silent ...'). On the other hand, this fountain of information may be just what you need to be successful. Saturn in Libra trines this new Moon eclipse, which shows that someone in authority is there to help you with your plans. Keep your eyes and ears open!
June 2: Mercury enters Gemini
Mercury in its home sign of Gemini usually likes nothing better than to chat, read the news and run errands. However, with the immediate square to nebulous Neptune in the first degree of sensitive Pisces, you'll be better off if you sit quietly and meditate or commune with nature before you go about your daily business. Minimize distractions whenever possible so you can hone in on ideas and contacts that are most important to you.
June 3: Neptune turns retrograde
Today marks the first time that spiritual Neptune turns retrograde since entering Pisces on April 4. Pay close attention to the themes currently emerging in your life since you'll be working with them for the next 14 years! Retrogrades are always about returning to previous territory to more fully assimilate your experiences, and since this one occurs at zero degrees of Pisces, any planet in your birth chart at zero degrees will receive a message from Neptune. Don't expect much logic or material sensibility from this mystical planet. As you focus on your personal plans, maintain a big-picture view and do what you can to develop a more spiritual life; you can also help yourself by becoming more inclusive of others. And as always, for extra insight, examine the house in your own chart through which Neptune is traveling.
June 4: Jupiter enters Taurus
Jupiter is a worldview-shifter that directs your attention to new philosophical, social and economic themes. Each time this enormous planet changes its sign, it offers a new lens through which to view the world. Jupiter spends one year in each of the twelve Sun signs, so it's certainly been a while since it has transited through Taurus! As Jupiter leaves fiery Aries and enters Taurus, a sensible Earth sign ruling money and values, all discussions -- global, local and personal -- will focus on getting your financial ducks in a row. Pay attention to those areas of your life you wish to make more secure in order to reap the most benefits from this transit. And if you know through which house this optimistic planet is transiting in your own chart, take steps to expand your sphere of influence in that life area.
June 8: Jupiter sextiles Neptune
When these two planets connect with each other, people come up with great big visions. Jupiter is one of the two social planets (the other is Saturn), while Neptune is a collective planet with a global influence. Perhaps you have a plan to serve humanity in some way, or to create something the world has never seen. This transit marks a highly idealistic time, and one in which your spirituality may move to the foreground. Connections between these two planets also seem to coincide with floods -- so take sensible precautions!
June 9: Venus enters Gemini
June 10: Venus squares Neptune
Since Neptune entered Pisces on April 4 and remains in zero degrees of this sign until the first week of August, once each planet enters a new sign, it immediately makes contact with Neptune's magical, yet nebulous energy. Venus, the planet of love, enters curious and talkative Gemini, which means you'll want to get out of the house, meet new people and cultivate fresh experiences. If you're presently in a relationship, come up with a plan to get yourself and your partner out of your day-to-day routines -- it's time to mix things up! If you're single, attend events where you're bound to meet interesting people. Just remember to keep your feet on the ground ... and if you're convinced you've met your soul mate, ask a friend for feedback and a reality check!
June 12: Saturn turns direct
Finally, some forward movement! Saturn has been retrograde since January 26, but now that it's changing direction, your projects and plans begin to gain momentum. If you keep your eye on the ball and plan well, you'll gain traction by the end of the month. Decide now what you want to be responsible for, as well as what you need to let others do. Your Saturn motto for this month is, Discipline and inspiration bring success! For much more information, be sure to look at your birth chart to see where Saturn is currently located.
June 15: Lunar eclipse in Sagittarius
Since the transiting north node is currently in Sagittarius, all eclipses in this Fire sign help you create a bigger and better vision for you and your life. Don't allow yourself to be distracted by conversations or extraneous thoughts that may divert you from your path. You know what you want, so remain faithful to your life philosophy. This lunar eclipse heightens emotions, and there are those who may try to sway you to their point of view. Listen carefully for information that can help you, and do your best to emulate the tree that bends -- but doesn't break -- in the wind.
June 16: Mercury enters Cancer and trines Neptune
Feeling sentimental? As communicative Mercury leaves chatty Gemini to enter this Water sign, thoughts are colored by emotions. Put your rational, logical mind in hibernation for now and speak from your heart. This is a wonderful transit for going through old letters or photo albums -- memories from the distant past can comfort you now. You may even want to contact a family member you haven't spoken with in a while. Sharing your innermost thoughts with those close to you will feel especially rewarding now. Also, Neptune's connection with Mercury enhances sensitivity and empathy, making this a great time to mend fences.
June 17: Venus trines Saturn
This aspect not only helps stabilize your relationships, but brings support from people who hold positions of authority. Use this time to socialize and advance your personal and business relationships. It seems like everybody loves you now, so take advantage of all the good will!
June 20: Mars enters Gemini
Mars is both a warrior and an advocate. When this planet is placed in such a vocal sign, you and everybody else have plenty to say! This is a wonderful placement for debating the merits of an idea or getting your message out into the world -- as long as you don't get too pushy. If you have an idea to sell, you can be quite persuasive now. To succeed, though, you'll have to know when to back off; otherwise, an energetic discussion can easily turn argumentative, which may sabotage the very thing you're trying to advance.
Enjoy the Sun's transit through Gemini!
